Strong Signals from the Network: Looking Back on the 7th Life Science Start-up Day
The 7th Life Science Start-up Day at the Life Science Factory in the Sartorius Quartier once again demonstrated the momentum currently shaping Lower Saxony’s life science ecosystem. For BioIntelligence, the event provided an opportunity to meet a wide range of stakeholders from entrepreneurship, research, funding and industry in one place and to continue conversations about concrete development pathways for life science start-ups.
What stood out in particular was the openness to collaboration and the shared ambition not only to make ideas visible, but to translate them into viable business models, partnerships and real-world applications. Especially in biotechnology and the life sciences, where innovation depends heavily on connectivity, knowledge transfer and complementary support structures, this practical orientation sent an important signal.
A special highlight was seeing myotwin on the main stage. Having previously heard the team pitch during the Focus Days at the incubator, seeing them present again in front of around 250 participants made their progress especially tangible. The exchange with GliTTher, NanoDrug Delivery and other participants also showed how strongly teams from the BioIntelligence environment are already embedded in the ecosystem and how their approaches are contributing important impulses for the future of medicine and drug delivery.
At the same time, the day brought a central question into focus: how can an already strong start-up ecosystem become even more visible, more connected and easier to navigate? Precisely because so many initiatives, programmes, institutions and committed individuals in Lower Saxony are already working with great energy to support life science start-ups, the quality of the links between them is becoming increasingly important.
The discussions at the Life Science Factory created valuable starting points in this regard: from matchmaking formats and corporate collaborations to more integrated support pathways for start-ups across different stages of development. In this sense, the 7th Life Science Start-up Day once again underlined the important role that focused networking formats can play in strengthening Lower Saxony as a life science location.
