BioIntelligence at bio:cap: Networking, Exchange and Strong Momentum for Life Science Innovation

From 9 to 11 June 2026, BioIntelligence exhibited at bio:cap in Berlin's CityCube. With its own booth and a technical presentation, the team used the event to connect with start-ups, investors, mentors and other stakeholders from the life science ecosystem.

Several start-ups from our current Batch #2 also attended the event, including GliTTher, NanoDrugDelivery and myotwin, which showcased its work with its own booth in the Pfizer Area. For us, this was a great example of how our network continues to grow and how valuable events like bio:cap are in giving young life science companies greater visibility.

Together with our strong Lower Saxony network, including Niedersachsen.next, we demonstrated the innovative strength of the region's life science ecosystem and highlighted the importance of increasing the visibility of start-ups beyond regional boundaries.

Many conversations focused on one central question: how can scientific ideas be transformed into sustainable business models? Life science start-ups operate in a particularly demanding environment, with long development cycles, complex regulatory requirements and significantly longer paths to market than many other industries.

This is exactly where the HTI BioIntelligence programme comes in. It brings together start-ups, research institutions, mentors, investors and industry partners, creating an environment where valuable exchanges lead to concrete next steps.

During her presentation, Felina Kallbach, Project Lead of HTI BioIntelligence, explained the specific challenges involved in supporting life science start-ups. Successful incubation is about far more than coaching and funding. It also requires translating between science, business and investment to help innovations reach the market.

The first edition of bio:cap clearly demonstrated the strong demand for networking, guidance and knowledge exchange within the life science community. At the same time, the event offered an open and approachable atmosphere, with inspiring conversations at the exhibition booths and a diverse speaker programme.

We would like to thank the bio:cap organising team for a successful premiere and look forward to seeing the event continue to grow. One thing is certain for BioIntelligence: we will be happy to return.
