GliTTher and myotwin Nominated for the Falling Walls Science Summit
Two start-ups from our programme, GliTTher and myotwin, have been nominated for the Falling Walls Science Summit. The initiative brings together innovative scientific approaches from around the world and highlights ideas with the potential to create meaningful change.
We have been supporting both teams through our programme for some time. In joint workshops, we work with them on translating strong scientific concepts into viable business models, making strategic decisions and developing clear perspectives for the market. We are therefore especially pleased to see their work gaining international recognition.
Precision Medicine for Glioblastoma
GliTTher is developing a precision medicine approach for glioblastoma, the most aggressive form of brain tumour. Its work focuses on glioma-initiating cells, which play a key role in tumour growth and often survive existing treatments.
GliTTher’s therapeutic approach specifically targets metabolic vulnerabilities in these cells, with the aim of effectively attacking tumour cells while sparing healthy tissue as much as possible.
More Realistic Testing for New Heart Medicines
myotwin combines human 3D cardiac tissue with precise measurement technologies and digital analysis to test new drug candidates under more realistic conditions.
The resulting data is used to create a digital twin of the human heart, helping to evaluate drug candidates more reliably and potentially accelerate the development of new therapies.
In August, the finalists will be selected. The chosen teams will have the opportunity to present their solutions in Berlin on 6 November 2026. Congratulations to GliTTher and myotwin on their nominations. We are keeping our fingers crossed for the next round!
