Working Together for a Strong Start-up Ecosystem in Lower Saxony

At the invitation of the Lower Saxony Ministry for Economic Affairs, Transport and Building, Hightech Incubators and start-up centres from across Lower Saxony came together for a joint exchange. Felina Kallbach and Andre Kaufung represented BioIntelligence.

The discussion focused on current developments, the future of funding for Hightech Incubators and start-up centres, and, above all, on how Lower Saxony’s start-up ecosystem can continue to develop together. One central question guided the exchange: How can we strengthen Lower Saxony’s economy, what can each stakeholder contribute, and what conditions are needed to make that possible?

For us, the open dialogue between the ministry and the organisations that support start-ups on a daily basis was particularly valuable. It created space to bring practical experience directly into the discussion: Which challenges do young companies face? Where is additional support needed? And which structures help innovative ideas grow and develop successfully in Lower Saxony?

The exchange once again highlighted how important it is to look at start-up support not only from the perspective of individual programmes, but also to consider together which conditions founders and the organisations supporting them need in order to succeed.

The meeting was also a welcome opportunity to reconnect in person with many of the other Hightech Incubators and start-up centres, as much of the exchange in day-to-day work takes place digitally.
